Mission and Committee

Mission Statement

The British Majorettes Sports Association (BMSA) is steadfast in its commitment to advancing the majorette sports tradition in England. Our mission is to unite, inspire, and empower individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities while promoting inclusivity, excellence, and community spirit.


Our Commitments:

  1. Majorette Excellence: BMSA is dedicated to fostering excellence in the art of majorette sports. We provide comprehensive training, resources, and unwavering support to nurture the skills and talents of our members.
  2. Inclusivity and Diversity: We embrace diversity and are resolute in making majorette sports accessible and inclusive for all, regardless of age, gender, background, or physical ability.
  3. Character Development: BMSA believes in the holistic development of our members. We in still qualities such as discipline, teamwork, leadership, and resilience through participation in majorette sports.
  4. Sportsmanship and Respect: BMSA fosters an environment of sportsmanship, fairness, and respect. We expect our members to exhibit integrity and kindness in their interactions on and off the field.
  5. Competition and Performance: BMSA supports our members in participating in local, national, and international competitions, encouraging them to continually push their limits and achieve their highest potential.
  6. International Baton Twirling Federation (IBTF): BMSA is committed to working alongside the International Baton Twirling Association (IBTF) to advance the art of majorette sports globally. We strive to promote communication, share expertise, and align our efforts with the IBTF to elevate the sport to new heights on the international stage.
  7. Preservation of Tradition: BMSA honours and respects the rich history and traditions of majorette sports, while also embracing innovation to ensure the sport's relevance in today's world.

The British Majorettes Sports Association aims to create a vibrant and inclusive majorette sports community where individuals can thrive as athletes and as valuable members of a unified team. Together, we twirl, we dance, and we inspire, playing a pivotal role in moving majorettes forward. Together we are one.

Carolyn (Caz) is a vital pillar of BMSA as our Vice Chairperson, Safeguarding Officer and a dedicated First Aid Specialist, she also serves as a qualified judge and coach contributing her expertise.

Pat, is an essential part of the BMSA and fulfils key roles as our diligent Administrator and Minutes Secretary whilst also offering expertise as a qualified judge and scrutineer ensuring the efficiency and integrity of our operations.

Ebony Mitchell

Ebony is an integral part of the Southern BMSA, she excels in her roles as: Competition and Training Officer, with additional expertise as a Levels coach, qualified judge and coach.

Christine Jupp

Christine is an esteemed figure within the Southern BMSA. She serves as our training officer, and her qualifications as a judge and coach reflect her unwavering dedication and expertise.

Donna Ford

Donna is a highly regarded member of the Southern BMSA: She fulfils her role as Training officer and holds qualifications as a judge and coach providing specialist advice.

Nikki Howard

Nikki is a dedicated and committed qualified judge and coach. With a wealth of knowledge from a lifetime of majorettes her invaluable expertise are invaluable to our team.

Emma Garnham

Emma is a fundamental part of our Southern BMSA: with her qualification as a judge she exemplifies her expertise and knowledge ensuring the highest standards and excellence.

Donna and Catherine are invaluable members of our Southern BMSA, Dedicated Refreshment Kiosk Volunteers their friendly service ensure our members enjoy a delightful range of hot and cold food and drink.

Both Glynis and Michelle are vital members of the Northern BMSA with their exceptional organisational skills they excel in ensuring a seamless running of our competitions. 

Helen Mountain

Helen is an esteemed figure within the Northern BMSA. As a highly qualified judge she brings an unparalleled level of expertise and experience. Helen also serves as our head judge ensuring fairness and excellence at all our events.

Katie Jackson

Katie is an accomplished professional qualified judge for the Northern BMSA. She serves as a distinguished judge enhancing the integrity and quality of our competitions.

Molly Pearson

Molly is a credit to our Northern BMSA, as our Social Media Marketer she has a passion for digital engagement and a keen eye for trends. Molly plays a crucial role in enhancing our content and creating a flair for our audiences.

Niki is a dedicated qualified judge within the Northern BMSA. With her keen discernment she serves as a valuable skilled judge aligning with our commitment and excellence for all our events.

Rachael is a distinguished member of the Northern BMSA, as a highly qualified judge and coach her expertise greatly enhances the calibre and integrity of our competitions.   

Tracey Jackson

Tracey is a renowed member for the Northern BMSA as a qualified judge. With her exceptional skills and her astute judgement she is highly regarded and offers expert advice.

Annie Moorhead

Annie is a dedicated and committed member for the Northern BMSA.As a qualified judge and coach along with a lifetime of both baton twirling and majorettes she brings a wealth to knowledge and experience to the table.
